Civil Design Engineer

Van Note-Harvey Associates, Inc. currently has two openings in its Princeton office for a full-time, entry-level Civil Design Engineer. The ideal candidate is expected to complete engineering design of site development projects, within budgetary and schedule targets, including drawings, supporting calculations, and report writing.

Aspects of the job include (but are not limited to):

  • Prepare detailed engineering design drawings from Schematic Design through Construction Contract Documents using AutoCAD Civil 3d, including but not limited to site layout and grading, drainage analysis, water and wastewater systems, stormwater management systems, soil erosion and sediment control measures, pedestrian pathways, roadways, and parking facilities.
  • Work with a team of professionals to support residential, private, and commercial site/civil engineering projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical specifications and stormwater/engineering reports, cut/fill calculations, review of shop drawings, RFI’s, and design clarifications.
  • Prepare materials/unit cost breakdown for Municipal Bonding requirements
  • Complete field inspections of stormwater management facilities for documentation to Municipalities
  • Prepare Municipal Site Plan submissions
  • Interact/meet with clients and regulatory agencies

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2019 or later.
  • Proficient in site layout, grading, stormwater management, utility design, erosion control, municipal and land use regulatory approvals, etc.
  • Solid understanding of the New Jersey State, County, Municipal & Agency stormwater management regulations
  • Effective writing skills, including preparation of reports and technical specifications.
  • Effective verbal skills, including the ability to make presentations and/or communicate effectively with project team members, vendors and clients.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently or collaboratively.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

This is a largely office role requiring frequent and prolonged computer use. This position requires occasional travel to and from project sites/meetings and may require overtime, evening and/or weekend work depending on project needs. In an outdoor working environment, exposure to extreme weather conditions may occur.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • NJ Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in civil engineering design.
  • Valid driver’s license (clean record).

Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing activities within the Clinical Quality Assurance function in the US and EMEA. Essential Functions

  • Manage CQA functions and activities, with resources in the US and EMEA, to maximize efficiency 25%
  • Implement clinical auditing procedures, and oversee and report on results of CQA audits of study sites, clinical vendors, clinical documents, and internal process audits 25%
  • Ensure that health authority inspections of global clinical facilities and study sites are facilitated 25%

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize and assist less experienced staff in understanding technical policies and procedures during the execution of projects for Clients.
  • Assist and work with senior level staff with Clients and agencies, subcontractors and design teams.
