Started 66 years ago by the National Society of Professional Engineers, Engineers Week is a national effort to raise awareness about the importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education by celebrating the work of engineers across the nation.
This year’s theme “Inspiring Wonder” encapsulates everything we do as engineers. We find creative ways to apply the principles of math and science to solve problems people encounter every day. Engineers have connected nations and states with bridges, found cures for diseases, and built computers.
Together, by increasing the conversation about engineering, we can increase the number of engineers in our workforce, particularly for women and minorities, for years to come. Learn more about Engineers Week, Engineering, and STEM below.

On Saturday, 17 February, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Family Day will be held for the 26th time. It will kick off Engineers Week activities in the National Capital region. Through the years, it has illuminated engineering to thousands of parents, teachers and children.
Engineers Week–the only event of its kind–is a time to celebrate how engineers make a difference in our world, increase public dialogue about the need for engineers, and bring engineering to life for kids, educators, and parents.
Founded by NSPE in 1951, EWeek (February 18–24, 2018) is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.
